Bintou

Bintou is a young girl I met in Abidjan as she came to me to learn to read and write. She was an amazing entrepreneur, selling grilled fish to workers on the road all evening so she could stitch clothes in the day time and earn extra money. The two scars on her face were from a treatment for fever during her early childhood. She sat for me often as my favorite model.
