Sailing School Lunch Break

Plein air watercolour on panel. Painted over 4 days over noonhour on the shore by the sailing school. As the students brought their boats in for a lunch break, they tied up and left the boats with the sails still hoisted. This gave me a great opportunity to paint the boats from life. There were boats still coming and going throughout the time I was painting as different classes began and ended their break. Even though each boat went by quickly, having 6 or 6 go out over the course of an hour gave me the time I needed to include a sailing boat.
