Autumn Trail

'Autumn Trail’ was painted during the Paint It! Elliott City 2020’ plein air event. It was my first visit to the Patapsco Valley State Park and I would stop in my tracks every few seconds as I saw rich warmth of the autumn leaves all around. I didn’t have to go far to set up my easel as there were pictures to be painted in each direction. The corner of the trail that I chose gave me a beautiful view of old and young maple trees and aspens. I could see the narrow trail beginning to get covered with falling leaves and the leaves gently floating in the air to rest on the ground, marking the beginning of a glorious Fall in Maryland.
