Dahlia Daydreams

I discovered Terra Farms and Field by chance when I drove on the country road past their field bursting with colorful dahlias. It is truly located in the middle of nowhere. This painting was completed in November in the studio based on studies which I did Plein air on-site in October and photographs of the florist who was picking bouquets three days before they mowed down all the plants to prepare for winter. I was inspired by the afternoon sunlight and the dreamy way in which Marcy appreciated the unique quality of each flower.
