TIME FLIES

This oil on canvas was inspired by the many visits I made to the Santa Paula Airport in Santa Paula, California sketching and painting vintage planes. It is part of a current solo exhibit at the nearby Santa Paula Art Museum. Seeing this old plane parked and ready for a flight lesson with the pilot walking toward it gave me a feeling of nostalgic hope and appreciation of old vehicles. I wanted to capture this along with the interesting light and composition, by painting this piece for the exhibit I was working on, a "Santa Paula Sojourn."
