Morning sparkles at Cave Point
One of my favorite times of the year is the Door County Plein Air Festival. I always take a vacation from work and follow incredible artists around the peninsula for the week. When it was moved online this year I decided to make the best of it and have my own little plein air festival. I picked a location for each day of the week and painted at least one painting a day around Door County. I documented it on instagram to hold myself accountable to the schedule and commitment to paint plein air each day. It made me appreciate the stamina and dedication of the featured artists in the PSA event. By the end of the week, I was exhausted but so grateful for the experience. I feel painting outside and soaking up the energy of the people I met around Door County really advanced my art. This painting was on the fifth day of my plein air festival very early in the morning to capture the sunrise over Cave Point. As we finished painting, people began to show up and were jumping off the point. Such a beautiful spot that is so much fun for adventurous swimmers.
