Hume Lake was a logging camp at the turn of the 20th century in the California Sierra's. Painted in oil on panel, the central focus is 'Russian Rock' which sits in the lake 30 feet from shore and has long been a fishing location and favorite swimming spot. I used the 'Golden ratio' several times in drawing attention to this loved spot.
